Purpose/Objective The primary purpose of this position is to assist customers by providing them with the highest level of support. To accomplish this, the individual takes sales calls, quotes prices, enters orders and generates paperwork for shipping. In addition, there are challenges in working with Engineering to meet the needs of the customer. To be successful, the focus needs to be on maintaining good relations with the customers while balancing the productivity needs of the organization. Knowledge/Know-How To perform this role the incumbent must have an associate degree in business, with at least three years’ experience in a clerical/high level shipping clerk role. Requires proficiency working with PC-based data systems (Excel, Assess, Word). Requires 3+ years Administrative Assistant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and have worked with international shipping documentation. Must have excellent communication skills, be outgoing and well-organized. Must be attentive to detail, a self-starter, and able to deal effectively in a fast-paced environment.
