Location: Goldsboro, NC 27530Days:Monday – Saturday (6-day schedule, May thru September)Hours:4:00 PM – 1:00 AM (Night Shift)Pay Rate: $18.90 – $21.33/Hour Responsibilities of the Industrial Mechanic Operator:The Industrial Mechanic Operator (Night Shift) sets up, maintains, repairs, and operates all the production equipment in the Packing Department and conveyors that move raw materials to and from the packing machinery (works in conjunction with maintenance personnel when needed). Set up, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace parts, and operate packing machinery to ensure maximum productivity, and that machinery is operating at desired speed and giving maximum amount of bottle fill, and that product breakage and machinery downtime are kept to a minimum. Set up packing line and make necessary adjustments to the packing line to ensure maximum efficient run. Operate conveyor and packing machines to keep downtimes to a bare minimum. Continuously monitor machinery during operations and report products that are not correct to the Operators. Perform daily and weekly operational and pre-operational checklist tasks on all production equipment. Inspect packing machines for cleanliness. Inspect incoming jars for inferior or broken glass. If jar breaks, stop the entire operation to carry out broken jar procedures. It is important to always move jars 10 feet on either side of the broken jar before restarting operation and carry out the remainder of the broken jar procedure as specified by supervisor. Operate equipment to prevent overloads so that jars are filled properly and remain upright. Notify supervisor of any machinery breakdown and assist DIN employees in repairs. Stop operation if a foreign object is seen in the product and contact supervisor for further instructions. Note and record information on machine operated, item packed, jar size, jar breakage, and machine downtime. Use math skills including addition and subtraction for these reports. Ensure all safety guards are in place on all equipment before the equipment is operated.Assist on D.I.N. maintenance calls within the department, with the exceptions of welding and electrical work.Monitor machine operation and report problems/changes to Lead Packing Machinery Mechanic or to Supervisor. Participate in training, employee meetings, and project teams as needed.Receive written instructions from packing schedule.
