Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift – East Stroudsburg, PA

We currently have an immediate opening for an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift for a local manufacturing plant that manufactures carbon parts and components for the graphite and electrical industries located in East Stroudsburg, PA.

**** The ideal candidate must have experience and knowledge with the following industrial equipment:  electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and plumbing.   This position is approximately 60% mechanical and 40% electrical. ****

$25.24/Hour or Commensurate with experience
Monday – Friday 
3:00 PM – 11:30 PM 2nd Shift
(Some overtime and occasional call-in for the weekend)


Maintenance Mechanic will perform the following duties:
  • Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all production machines, heating, cooling and steam systems, material-handling equipment, as well as plumbing, electrical and hydraulic/pneumatics industrial equipment.

  • Maintenance Mechanic will repair, adjust, and troubleshoot all production and industrial manufacturing equipment. 

  • Maintenance Mechanic will repair and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
  • The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the start-up, daily operation, change-over, and shut-downs of all production and manufacturing equipment in the plant.
  • Maintenance Mechanic will assist with installations of new machinery and equipment.

  • Maintenance Mechanic will log, record, and track preventative maintenance procedures in the maintenance software system.
  • The Maintenance Mechanic will complete work orders as required.
  • The Maintenance Mechanic will respond to maintenance calls on the production floor.
  • Maintenance Mechanic will inventory spare parts, report usage, and suggest re-order to Maintenance Lead. 
  • Communicate with Production Operators and other Maintenance Technicians to explain mechanical processes and root causes. 
  • Maintenance Mechanic must properly maintain tools.
Maintenance Mechanic must have the following qualifications:
  1. Must have working knowledge of 480V, 3-phase electricity.
  2. Must have previous hydraulic and repair experience.
  3. Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and Honeywell process controls is a big plus.
  4. Must have at least 3-5 years of experience or training with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and equipment.
  5. Must have 4+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  6. Experience in troubleshooting and reading electrical/mechanical schematics.
  7. Ability and knowledge of gauges and measurements.
  8. Machining, welding, fabrication, and millwright experience is a big plus.
  9. Must wear PPE including safety glasses and safety boots (steel-toe or composite-toe).
  10. High school diploma or GED.
  11. Strong focus on safety and quality.
  12. Must maintain good attendance.
  13. Must be able to become certified with Forklift, Scissor-Lift, and other material-handling equipment. 
  14. Availability to work overtime and during off-shift hours as needed.
  15. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  16. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident alien of the United States.
  17. All candidates must have one of the following documents:  U.S. Birth Certificate, or U.S. Passport, or Certificate of Naturalization, or Permanent Resident Card.  
Physical Requirements of the Maintenance Mechanic:
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment with noise and dusty conditions.
  • Dusty and noisy environment due to carbon parts and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures and around machinery and chemicals.
  • Capable of walking and standing for up to twelve (12) hours per day.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, pull, and push without assistance (example: brace, cane)
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms.  Constant use of hands/fingers to handle and manipulate, parts and tools.
  • Constantly wear PPE including safety glasses and safety boots (Steel-toe or Composite-toe).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
