Monroe Staffing is a division of Staffing 360 Solutions.   We are a leading staffing firm in the U.S. in the light industrial sector. 
We currently have an opening for an Electrical Engineer for a large multinational food manufacturer.  The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years PLC programming and industrial electrical experience. Associates degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
 
  • Responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment requiring strong Electrical and Programmable Logic Control skills in addition to working with mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics systems
  • Effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance to prevent breakdowns on equipment
  • Day to day troubleshooting, repair, and installation of low & high voltage industrial electromechanical & control systems for utility and production equipment
  • Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments
  • Effectively utilizes RSLogix and Allen Bradley Software to program and troubleshoot PLC driven systems
  • Diagnose PLC errors to restore faulted equipment after power outages
  • Responsible for documenting existing and new equipment, control, and power system installation
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble•
  • Prioritizes work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime
  • Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to enter work orders and track necessary parts
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement, as necessary
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices
  • Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
  • Reviews maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards
  • Support the facilities food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision-making process
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction
  • Works with Plant Engineer and Maintenance Manager to prioritize and plan work activities and completes work in timely manner
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
  • Works within approved budget and conserves organizational resources
  • Follows policies and procedures and observes safety and security procedures
  • Uses equipment and materials properly and reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Is consistently at work and on time and commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
  • Actively pursues growth and developmental opportunities; seeks out feedback and responds without defensiveness; continuously finds ways to improve

Skills & Knowledge for the Electrical Engineer:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have PLC programming experience
  • Must have industrial electrical experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical prints and schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer and keyboarding skills and have knowledge of and be competent in the use of Inventory and Maintenance Related Software
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Complete understanding of industrial electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage
  • Proficiency in electrical installations with conduit and wiring practices
  • Mechanic must have own basic set of tools, to include, but not be limited to the following items:
    1. Wrenches & sockets 
    2. Adjustable wrenches 
    3. Pliers -Nut Drivers 
    4. Screwdrivers -Multimeter
 
 
Education & Training for the Electrical Engineer:

  •  Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3 years PLC programming experience. 
  • Minimum 3 years industrial electrical experience.
 
Physical Requirements for the Electrical Engineer:

  • The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
