Purchasing Clerk

This is a temporary position.  Working hours are 8 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. ( Will last a couple of months)

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for compiling requests for materials, preparing purchase orders, keeping track of purchases and supplies, and handling inquiries about orders. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchase non-part number requirements (MRO, office supplies, etc.)
  • Expedite/follow up with vendors on late shipments
  • Receiving/Accounting discrepancies
  • Obtain quotes

Competencies:

  • Manufacturing environment familiarity
  • Experience purchasing materials through MRP preferred
  • Ability to meet objectives, often in a fast-paced manufacturing office setting
  • Capable of working well with multiple internal and external customers
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and to timely achieve desired goals of each
  • Effective communicator with the ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand, communicate easily with others and complete all paperwork

Computer Skills:

  • ERP/MRP environments (Microsoft GP preferred)
  • MS Office products (primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel), 
  • Basic data entry

Education/Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment with the ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and learn new tasks and skills
