Production Lead

Job Purpose:

The Production Lead position reports directly to the Production/Manufacturing Supervisor. The role is an exciting opportunity to join a global, dynamic, Hi-Tech team, supporting the medical and aerospace industries.  We are the industry leader in development and manufacturer of ceramic to metal seals for both Aerospace and Medical markets.  We help improve the quality of life with our implantable medical components, and we ensure the safety of travelers by developing multiple components for the Aerospace industry. 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees and investigate and report all safety incidents.
  • Communicates and enforces safety and quality standards and ensures equipment is fully operational.
  • In depth understanding of established Morgan values and strategies.
  • Perform various tasks as assigned by Department Supervisor.
  • Assist with the completion of person, department and company goals.
  • Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and standards.
  • Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for meeting daily production targets, monthly shipment goals, and on time delivery performance.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • Conduct training & own documentation for training.
  • Must be able to carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
  • Order supplies, enter maintenance requests, and complete payroll time sheets.
  • Understand process flow.
  • Provide recommendation and be an active participant in continuous improvement projects.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP system (Syteline).
  • Basic Computer Knowledge (Microsoft Excel).
  • Recommend staffing deployment and operating improvements in work methods.
  • Effectively maintain clean and safe work place in accordance to 5S policy.
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands.
  • Work time flexibility as business requirement changes.
  • Monitor job entry signature with correct tools and equipment ID numbers.
  • Ensure material traceability is being followed by company policy.
  • Relate all new or revised policies, procedures and/or processes to the employees to ensure they have the most-up-to-date and current information and methods.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor.

Additional Requirements by department:


Departmental Requirements – Medical

  • Coordinates final packing requirements of Medical products and prepare for shipments.
  • Advises Department Supervisor on any changes/updates needed on Methods.
  • Prioritizes job tasks of all Medical Inspectors.
  • Schedules all dimension and final inspection jobs to meet delivery requirements.


Departmental Requirements – X-Ray

  • Assemble all X-ray products, and NPI’s with high performance and accuracy.
  • Coordinate furnace priorities.
  • Operate CMM, Comparator, Ransohoff Wash Machine.
  • Coordinate with incoming inspection on CMM usage.
  • Familiar with final packing requirements of X-ray products and prepare for shipments.
  • Coordinate any revised method updates that are in need of replacement and distributed to the floor and update MIR card revision changes.

 

Departmental Requirements – Aerospace

  • Coordinate furnace priorities.
  • Coordinate any revised method updates that are in need of replacement and distributed to the floor and update MIR card revision changes.

 

Departmental Requirements – Plating

  • Knowledge of all hazardous chemicals in area.
  • Responsible for chemical composition of tanks.
  • Utilization of formula to determine correct amount of plating required.
  • PPE and proper safety protocol for anyone entering plating room.
  • Coordinate with other areas on requirements.
  • Knowledge of XRF machine.
  • Work with Technician to troubleshoot discrepancies.

 

Departmental Requirements – Kitting

  • Performs cycle count and maintains physical inventory of all components.
  • Creates assembly kits using the scheduling procedure to monitor production requirements of all components needed to assembly production parts.
  • Communicating scheduling needs for component levels with all Departments.
  • Utilization of the ERP System to check inventory and movement of jobs.
  • Oversees and maintains the “Kanban” and consignment system.
  • Responsible for keeping the inventory organized and labeled properly assuring proper revisions are kept.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.


Departmental Requirements – Metalizing

  • 5S Checklist; and review of all expiration dates on Metalizing inks and chemicals.
  • Coordinate any revised method updates that are in need of replacement and distributed to the floor and update MIR card revision changes.
  • Knowledge of all hazardous chemicals in area.
  • PPE and proper safety protocol for Metalizing Department.
  • Knowledge of XRF machine.

 

Departmental Requirements – Ceramics

  • Coordinate furnace priorities.
  • Coordinate any revised method updates that are in need of replacement and distributed to the floor and update MIR card revision changes.
  • Knowledge of all hazardous chemicals in area.
  • PPE and proper safety protocol for Ceramics Department.
