Production Control Specialist

Job Title: Production Control Specialist

Location: East Hartford, CT

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for all Production activities related to shop production and planning, including but not limited to customer MRP downloads, job routers, production reports and scheduling.

Major Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Download customer on-line and shop mate MRP requirements
  • Run weekly master list, start list, date changes and other reports as necessary
  • Compile weekly push-out/pull-in reports
  • Develop strong relationships with vendors
  • Obtain approvals for purchases beyond buying authorization
  • Reduce purchasing costs by utilizing cost containment practices
  • Review all incoming rejections in conjunction with Quality Assurance department
  • Arrange for delivery to and from vendors for parts or services
  • Notify appropriate parties of any changes to deliver dates

  • Assist shipping and receiving department
    • Pull inventory and repack or shipping
    • Process international shipment paperwork including Certificate of Origin and commercial invoices along with international shipment numbers
    • Download requirements from customer websites and coordinate shipping of parts
    • Handle customer returns
    • Manage cycle count and inventory

Requirements:

  • High-School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, advanced knowledge of MS-Excel
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of international shipments
  • Prior experience within aerospace manufacturing, a plus
