Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collect all trash and recyclable materials from the manufacturing floor and other areas of the facility as directed
  • Clean and maintain safety walkways (including snow removal) and building utility areas / rooms as directed
  • Assist in overall maintenance of the facility as directed
  • Assist in the upkeep of outside grounds as directed
  • Assist in the overall maintenance and care of all safety equipment as directed
  • Promote a safe working environment, practice 5S, correct safety and facility deficiencies
  • Assist in Hazardous Waste Management program as directed
  • Monitor manufacturing support equipment performance as required
  • Performing additional assignments as directed by the Facilities Manager

Qualifications:

  • Proficient at operating facilities trash and recycling equipment
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Forklift certification a plus but not a requirement (will train)

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk. The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
