Engineer - Cathodic Protection

Job Title: Engineer, Cathodic Protection (direct hire)

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the Natural Gas Pipeline Integrity Management Program, managing Corrosion Control Program, and for maintaining compliance with all corporate policy, procedures, D.O.T., FERC regulations and judicial orders. General duties associated with these areas of expertise, for which the candidate will be responsible, include: * Arranging and managing contracts with third party vendors for various pipeline projects (i.e. CIS and Annual Test station survey on Company's behalf. * Performing data analysis of Cathodic protection survey results. * Interpreting data from cathodic protection systems and implementing proper course of action. * Reviewing code compliance; * Reviewing atmospheric coating inspections and implementing proper course of action. * Determining and then executing correct repair methodologies for any damage or corrosion that may be discovered on the pipeline facilities; * Managing of corrective projects performed on the pipeline facilities; * Specifying pipeline integrity requirements and mitigation measures; * Developing and maintaining the Field Operating Plan (FOP), Emergency Operating Plan (EOP), and the Construction Specifications Manual. Knowledge: * Corrosion control systems, pipeline integrity management practices, non-destructive testing procedures and applications, pipeline operation, maintenance, and construction activities. * Pipeline repair methods and construction methodology * Project management techniques including: scope definition and control, execution strategy, cost estimating and control, team organization and management, scheduling and schedule control, procurement of materials and services, contract management, quality control, and progress reporting. * Demonstrated proactive problem solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple events. * Verbal and written communication that is clear, concise, and audience sensitive. * Knowledge of industry specific data logger. * High proficiency in operation of typical desktop applications, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, FileMaker and several industry related applications (Dig Track, Bass Trigon(PCS), etc.). Education and Experience: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required * Five plus years of experience in the natural gas industry required * Minimum three (3) years in corrosion control, NACE CP3 or greater * Minimum two (2) years in managing code compliance and regulation interpretation * Minimum two (2) years using inline inspection technology
