Job Summary: Lead the work area and be accountable for work flow, training and communication in the group and with customers and suppliers. 3rd Shift Hours: 11pm - 7:30am (SUN-THUR).

  • Possible overtime requirements on Saturdays (7am-11am / min. of 4-hours)

Roles & Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate the processing of all jobs in the assigned area, assign team members to work centers on all shifts.
  • Communicate with management, production control, setup people, operators, and support personnel as needed to sustain proper work flow.
  • Adjust daily work plan for expedites and priorities from other areas of the plant.
  • Collect and record data on setups, downtime, quantities, and return to stock.
  • Monitor and report on performance measures such as throughput time, labor utilization, quantities and safety. Communicate this information to management.
  • Create put away sheets, manage pallet movement
  • Provide “hands-on” assistance in any team function when needed.
  • Provide training for team members, including but not limited to, job functions, safety, and quality
  • Perform administrative tasks such as; resolving job packet issues (errors, drawing discrepancies, etc.). Reporting bill and routing issues. Resolving material return-to-stock. Monitor team’s skill and training needs.
  • Recommend corrective actions to management
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and initiate activities to ensure that the savings are realized.
  • In foreperson’s absence provide backup for all duties.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school or general education degree (GED)
  • Six to twelve months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, detailed short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must also be able to write detailed correspondence.
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to train team members in a variety of subjects including job tasks, safety, quality, etc.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems. Ability to interpret information collected from various sources and determine the best course of action.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Must display mechanical aptitude.
  • Must possess ability to make decisions based on changing conditions.
