We're currently seeking a Surface Prep Technician to join our machine shop team. In this role, you'll primarily be responsible for surface preparation tasks such as sanding and polishing, as well as assisting with other machine shop duties when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform surface prep tasks using rotary/belt sanders to prepare parts for finishing processes like anodizing and plating.
- Assist with cutting stock to length, tapping holes, and general departmental maintenance during periods of low surface prep demand.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators/masks, while performing surface prep tasks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in machine shop operations is preferred but not required; we're open to entry-level candidates or those with surface prep experience in other industries such as autobody.
- Comfortable working with rotary/belt sanders and other surface prep equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail to ensure high-quality surface finishes.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and willingness to adhere to PPE requirements.
- Flexibility to assist with other machine shop tasks as needed.
Location: Milford, MA
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
