We seek a dedicated and experienced manager with at least 2+ years of experience in the food industry/ production environments. The Picking manager will oversee the picking area of the bakery, ensuring efficient operations and timely fulfillment of orders. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
 
Location: Braintree, MA
Pay rate: $25+/HR.
Shift: 12 PM-11:30 PM (may vary based on bakery needs)
Days: Sunday to Saturday, with a day off.
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and coordinate activities in the picking area to ensure smooth operations and adherence to production schedules.
  2. Train, mentor, and provide guidance to picking staff to maximize performance and efficiency.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory management team to ensure adequate stock levels for picking operations.
  4. Maintain accurate records of picking activities, including order fulfillment, inventory movements, and discrepancies.
  5. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all staff members.
  6. Collaborate with other departments, such as production and shipping, to facilitate seamless workflow and order fulfillment.
  7. Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to optimize picking operations.
  8. Handle any issues or concerns that arise during picking operations, including addressing customer inquiries and resolving order discrepancies.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in a related field is a plus.
  2. Proven experience in supervisory in the food production environment.
  3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  5. Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  6. Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards.
  7. Ability to operate picking equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
