Maintenance Mechanic

 

Monroe Staffing is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Ayer, MA for a beverage manufacturer. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance team in the repair and maintenance of high-speed production line packaging equipment. This role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring efficient equipment operation.

Location: Ayer, MA

Shift: 1st Shift M-F 5:45am - 2:30pm 

           2nd Shift 3pm- 12:30 am (Production is complete)

Payrate: $28.00+ DOE

 

Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Clean, lubricate, and inspect equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical components and PLC systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment, replacing worn parts.
• Maintain machinery following operational guidelines.
• Locate and diagnose equipment issues.
• Remove and replace defective parts.
• Manage equipment and parts inventory.
• Promote downtime reduction through preventive maintenance.
• Fabricate repair parts as needed.
• Provide maintenance information and reports.
• Stay updated with industry developments.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
• Contribute to the team's success.

Qualifications of a Maintenance Technician:

• 3-5 years of maintenance mechanic experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance terminology, GMP, OSHA, FIFO, SPL, and PM.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly motivated, responsible, and collaborative.
• Able to work in a dynamic environment.
• Independent thinking and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:

• Regular standing and walking (70% of the time).
• Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Frequent squatting, kneeling, and bending.
• Tolerance for varying temperatures (cold and hot).
• Climbing steps and using elevated platforms.
