Quality Assurance Coordinator  - Plastics Manufacturer

Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with Quality Department.

Insure operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields. - Develop test methods/procedures to support product validation efforts. - Maintain test equipment to traceable standards. - Perform validation tests to meet client specifications. - Generate test reports of performance validation tests. - Performing routine administrative/clerical duties. Confirm audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained. Determine overall plant product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests to insure client requirements are satisfied. Recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation, and housekeeping practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.

Responsibilities include starting and shutting down plastics production line.Operate standard equipment and machines that prepare products for packaging, storageand shipment. Reviewing and inspecting plastics for defects. Wrapping, packaging, and labelingof finished products for preparation of final shipment. Able to push and pull 1500lbs using wheeledcart and remote control. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adherent to ISO procedures.

Work in a team oriented environment. Able to work 12 hour work shifts with rotating schedules. PPE equipment available and required. Must wear safety uniform: coveralls, steel helmet, steel toe shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs.

Duties;

• Stores prepared materials in designated areas utilizing a forklift or pump jack.
• Record all colors on a daily log sheet.  
• Locates pigments in inventory and utilizing the formulation chart, collects appropriate amount of additives and concentrates.
• Weighs pigment, additives, and concentrates. Places pigment into specified henschels to produce colorant. 
• Submits samples of color to Supervisor for approval.
• Produces colors in a dry-powder or plastic form depending on order specifications. Upon completion cleans the machine and the surrounding area. 
• Performs all work in a safe manner to include the proper use of personal protective equipment.
