We have an immediate opening for a full-time Tig Welder for a local brazing, welding, and metal heat-treatment processing facility located in Goffstown, NH.  
 
The ideal candidate should have experience with tig welding, reading blueprint drawings, and possess simple mig, arc, or flame cutting skills.

7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
 
 
Job Duties of Tig Welder:

  • Tig Welder is responsible for assembling parts to customer specifications. 
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layout.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method, based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding, according to specifications. 
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Shop fabrication including:
    • Fitting and tack welding of structural and plate steel.
    • Cutting, fitting, and tack welding of structural steel, plate steel, and other steel parts.
    • Welding: using mig and/or arc processes.
  • Removing slag and spatter from finished welds.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
  • Follow written specifications and record lot numbers and type of welding material. 
  • Tig Welder will inspect parts for compliance with specifications.
  • Operate related equipment, such as Forklifts, cranes, and power tools as needed.
  • Follow safety policies and perform duties safely and responsibly, while observing and complying with safety rules (OSHA and SDS standards), including safe operation of all equipment.
  • Tig Welder must use the following personal protective equipment: 
    • Steel-toe Boots 
    • Safety Glasses 
    • Gloves 
    • Safety Vest
  • The facility environment can be dusty at times and can get very hot when metal heating furnaces are in operation.
 
 
Requirements for Tig Welder:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent. 
  • Experience with tig welding, brazing, soldering, brazing furnaces, and/or metal heat-treating operations.
  • Must possess simple mig, arc, and/or flame cutting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings for steel fabrication.
  • General knowledge of steel fabricating techniques.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment commonly used in a welding or brazing shop.
  • Familiarity with operating a forklift, crane, and power tools is a plus.
  • Reasonable knowledge of work methods and procedures with maintenance and repair activities.
  • Constant lifting, pushing, or raising objects of up to 50 pounds. 
  • Performs duties requiring standing, walking, gripping, or feeling with hands, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, or crouching.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
